CASE STUDY | GOOGLE – BE INTERNET AWESOME

In June and August 2018, North Star Alliances produced Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” program in Los Angeles and Chicago, which aims to teach students and families safe digital citizenship, by starting with a conversation at home and reinforcing with a pledge to practice being Internet Awesome — smart, alert, strong, kind, and brave—when online.  BG provided 360 degree service, including location scouting (for New York in October), site visits for overall planning, creation of all branding elements, sourcing and purchasing of all promotional items (calendars, shirts, toys, pens/pencils, mugs, pinatas, more), set up and break down of entire event (including banners & backdrops, staging, photobooth, walls, balloons), event staffing and brand ambassadors, sourcing of vendors and food catering, and managing RSVP lists for CBOs and families, including outreach to attract attendees to the event.  The event included two sessions: A morning segment for students and families, and an afternoon segment for 100-125 local CBO leaders, including a 4-person panel of experts discussing internet safety and trends, followed by a question-and-answer session from the audience and expert panel. The inaugural event was such a success that Google asked North Star Alliances to roll the program out nationally.  The list includes Chicago, New York City, Texas, and more to come.
